‘Punishment Ballet’ which appeared in Janus 22 was a sequel of sorts to ‘Punishment PT’ from Janus 17. Both photo fantasies featured three girls undergoing a strict disciplinary regime with the story told in pictures only. During the early 1980’s Janus was keen to include a wide range of themes to ensure that each issue had a unique feel to it and they produced some fine editions during this period.
One other small point about Janus 22 was that it featured credits for all three members of the creative team on the ‘Contents’ page for the first and only time in the magazine’s history. Quite why they disappeared again from issue 23, I guess we’ll never know.
We are pleased to include a selection of original photos from ‘Punishment Ballet’ and if you’d like to see more you can download a copy of Janus 22 here.
Friday at last! Perhaps a couple of days respite ahead from the daily grind? Perhaps not – more likely two days of family commitments and ferrying the kids everywhere! Hopefully you’ll find time for a trip down memory lane at some point this weekend and there are plenty of new digital downloads to discover in the Janus online shop.
Janus 38 is now available which you’ll note from the article below features the last major appearance of Paula Meadows as a Janus model. We’ll be producing a news update with some more restored images of Paula from the Janus archive next week but if you can’t wait until then click on the highlighted link.
Also available are Janus 62 and 66 featuring the delightful Sheena McBride on both covers. Sheena had the most splendid, full, round bottom and we’ll be celebrating it properly on this page next week. You’ll also find we’ve added Blushes 19 and 30, both of which are classic issues, along with Blushes Supplement 5 and Uniform Girls 32.

Janus 21 featured the second appearance of Paula Meadows as Lesley to accompany Richard Manton’s excellent story ‘Lesley: A Sound Thrashing’. Paula had previously appeared as Lesley in Janus 13 and had been illustrating the magazine since Janus 14, although her name rarely appeared beside her early illustrations.
At the time readers were unaware of the fact that ‘Lesley’ was also the Janus illustrator but that all changed in Janus 28 when the inside back cover promised an ‘amazing interview with our artist’ in the next issue. The interview and photos in Janus 29 lived up to the billing and it’s an essential read for all who appreciate her work.
Her last significant appearance as a model in the pages of Janus was in issue 38 which will be available to download in the near future.
Many will be aware that Paula went on to edit and illustrate Februs for each of it’s 48 issues and she also appeared on a number of occasions as a model. Digital editions of Februs will be appearing in our online shop shortly.
Janus photographer Roy Tersley has restored some of the images of Paula from issue 21 that survive in the Janus archive and we are pleased to feature them below. To see the rest of these photos and the accompanying story you can download a digital copy of Janus 21 here. To download issues of other magazines featuring Paula click on the highlighted links.
A wide selection of classic magazines have been added to the Janus online store today.
The first issue of New Derriere is now available to download along with Janus 21 and 22. Readers who know the history of Janus will be aware that New Derierre was launched by the Janus team and ran for six issues between the publication of Janus Volume 9 No 12 and New Janus 1.
Blushes 16 and 24 are also online along with Uniform Girls 35 and Blushes Supplement 16. These are the first issues of other magazines from the very popular Blushes stable to be made available.
Click on the highlighted links to download any of these magazines and look out for a special feature on Paula Meadows appearance in Janus 21 later this week.
Slowly but surely we are gradually recovering a number of Janus videos that have been missing from our archive for many years. Thanks to Tam and Nigel we’ve recently recovered ‘The Piano Lesson’, ‘The Spelling Lesson’ and ‘Mummy, Daddy and Naughty Daughter’. All of these films were originally shown in the viewing booths in the Janus Shop in the early 80’s.
You can download each film by clicking on the highlighted link but we thought you’d enjoy seeing these clips from ‘The Spelling Lesson’ and ‘Mummy, Daddy and Naughty Daughter’.
You can view a full selection of all of our classic videos available to download here.
If you are able to help us track down any of our missing films please don’t hesitate to get in touch at archive@janusworldwide.com
A list of the films we are still after can be found here and as a ‘thank you’ we’d be pleased to offer a selection of complementary downloads from our online shop.
