In our continuing series of posts highlighting lesser-known photo stories we reflect on ‘The Aftermath’ from Janus 125. Working late, Donella Lancing left the office in a rush, neglecting to apply the security lock. Thieves took everything – there was no excuse and no one else to blame. Donella knows she deserves to be punished and she wants to be punished. Ordered to report to the office at 9am the next morning she nervously awaits the arrival of her boss…

Our friend MarQe recently featured some unpublished photos of the wonderful Lisa from Janus 134 on his blog. We’re pleased to include a few more unseen images here for your enjoyment.

The cover hints at the delights that await inside! ‘Lisa’ was a popular page 3 model who was known to the Janus editor and photographer for a number of years. She turned down many opportunities to appear in Janus but, to our delight, she eventually changed her mind. Visitors to the Janus shop might remember that there were some wonderful large photos of Lisa in the window about ten years ago. Nicola Redway and Priscilla Waters may well be the best-loved and most fondly remembered Janus models of all time. It was obvious from readers’ letters that the girls were held in great affection from the moment they first appeared in Janus 23 way back in 1983.

They next appeared together a couple of years later in Janus 46, which was one of the most popular issues ever published. The front cover is a classic image – two giggling ‘schoolgirls’ look over their shoulders as they pull up their tight brown knickers. They returned for the last time together to be interviewed in Janus 48 before Nicola took her final solo bow in Janus 68. We are proud to present this affectionate little New Year memento of the girls featuring many candid, unpublished photos that were originally taken for Janus 48.

A large number of images from all four appearances have been unearthed by our archive team and we hope you enjoy this small selection.

We can’t allow an update on Nicola Redway to pass without mentioning MarQe who is one of her biggest fans! MarQe is about to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of his fantastic blog, which you can visit here.

So the presents are wrapped, the reindeer are fed and watered and just before setting off Santa’s sent his naughty little helpers to bed with sore bottoms!
