Thanks to the efforts of an anonymous collector a further four classic movies have been returned to the Janus archive.
The earliest film to be returned is the full version of ‘Late for School’ from 1977. Although this is a Janus film, permission was given for the stills to appear in a number of London Life magazines, most notably ‘Spanking Special Limited Edition Vol.1 No.2’.
Two more early, silent Harrison Marks films from 1979 are also back. ‘The Riding Lesson’ which was featured in Janus Vol.8 No.3 and ‘The School Lesson’ from Janus Vol.8 No.12.
The final film to be returned is ‘The Prefect’s Lesson’ from 1981, which appeared in New Derriere Vol.1 No.3. This was the very first Janus film to feature sound.
